In this series, I explore the assumptions we make about intimacy by photographing pairs of Southeast Asian and South Asian individuals in a bed setting. The images are carefully composed to offer no clear evidence of sexual involvement, inviting viewers to question their immediate reactions and consider the complexity of human connections.

I've chosen pairs with varying religions, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexualities—many of whom are strangers to each other. By focusing mainly on the Southeast Asian body, I confront our cultural resistance to nudity while highlighting the often misunderstood diversity within our communities.  I aim to spark conversations about how we perceive intimacy, cultural norms, and the bonds between people – all themes that have shaped my own experiences growing up in a Southeast Asian context.
